School Psychologist Recommended Mar 03, 2010 Great book to explain to kids, teens, teachers, and parents what it is like to live with ADHD. My own teen thinks the book is great and describes his ADHD perfectly. He has even shown it to friends who laugh and agree it is perfect.
Makes understanding and accepting easier Feb 10, 2010 My daughter was given the ADHD diagnosis and she was devastated. She felt it meant she was 'weird' and 'hyper'. This was a fun and easy way to help her realize that anyone can have this disorder and it is not the end of the world. We enjoyed reading this book and I will be donating to the school counselor when we've finished it. (My daughter has read it several times).
Love This Series... Jan 30, 2010 I rated this book 4 stars instead of 5 stars ONLY because I think that the "All Cats Have Aspergers" is a bit better - but this book is outstanding to explain to kids (of all ages) what it must feel like to have ADHD. It treats the subject in a humorous way, but this author understands the problems that come with ADHD. Not all ADHD kids have exactly the same issues, not all of them will have everything this book shows, but they should find enough of themselves to understand themselves better... And that they're NOT the only ones struggling with these issues. Great job, wish I thought of this series myself! I've recommended both of these books to SPED teachers, they're great to leave out for kids to flip through.
Great help for special little ones Jan 27, 2010 To help them to realize although they may see and feel things differently they are special in their own ways.
Hyper dogs Jan 26, 2010 What a gem of a book! As with "All cats have Asperger syndrome", the author manages to explain about ADD and ADHD with simple sentences. The result is an informative book which in few pages basically say the same as many experts need hundreds of pages to express. This book is full of charm and humour. The concept may seem childish, the result is not.
My diagnosis is AS, yet I recognised myself in several statements in this one, leading me to suspect even stronger that I have ADD as well as AS.
This is an excellent read for anyone who have one of the conditions and for those who deals with them, in the family or at work/school.
If you simply like dogs without being very interested in ADHD, you'll still enjoy this one, as there are lovely dogs on every page!
