Product Description Chew Stixx when used properly provide a safe and bacteria free alternative for children who chew on shirts, pencils, fingers, ETC. Chew Stixx combines multiple food simulating textures into one cost effective device. Due to the alternating textures of this product, it is an excellent chewable hand fidget for children craving sensory input, and the input received from destructive oral motor grinding. The textures of this product were designed by therapists to simulate the ever changing textures of food, therefore assisting with children who have sensory issues when certain textures are placed in their mouth.

2What flavor, What scent?  Feb 08, 2010 By Mom in St Louis "Mom in St Louis"
I purchased these chew stixx for my son. He needed to chew something other than his toothbrush. I purchased these after talking to a few mothers at the OT office. I received the shipment pretty fast but the product was not as I thought it would be. They had NO flavor and NO scent. Actually one had a really slight mint smell but no flavor. My son was totally turned off by the plastic scent. So, I called the seller and they told me that the scent and flavor were extremely faint. And that it only activated with the heat of chewing for a while. So being a good mom, I chewed those things for a half an hour for each one trying to activate the smell/taste for my little one. And nothing, nil, nodda. There was no flavor and no scent emanating from these things well except the plastic one. Even the one that smelled faintly of mint began to taste real plasticky after a while. My son will only chew the minty scented one for a little bit. So now he is throwing them around like ninja throwing stars. I guess we are getting some kind of use out of them. But I am still on the hunt for some actually taste and scented chewy things. I also, saw that you can buy a candy scented/flavored spray to spritz them with and I was thinking of doing just that. I will let you know if that helps him to get past the plastic scent/taste. Thanks.

5Stick  Mar 11, 2012 By Sasa1702
These chew stick are amazing. My daughter has some speech issues and these have help tremendously. She has also stopped chewing on her clothes, my phone, pencils, toys and everything else for the most part ( she is a kid so she does chew in things) but as soon as I give her a chew stxx it stops. Her speech is getting better as well as her eating habits. I would recommend these to anyone. My sister Whois an SLP also buys these in bulk and gives them to her kids that need them.

This item means saftey for my son who has Pica; he will chew on this instead of eating his clothes, pencils, toys, etc.

3a bit wide for some small mouths  Mar 10, 2011 By Allison Jane
This is a great idea, and my dysphagia client did try it a couple of times so far. However, the chew segments are too wide to easily fit in his mouth, since he has oral apraxia and oral sensitivity and frequent difficulty opening his mouth wide. It would have been helpful to have labeled the flavor of each chew stick.

2Son bites off pieces  Sep 21, 2010 By V. Rodriguez
I bought the multi-pack for my son. He has bitten through 3 of them in less than one month! He only likes chewing on the smooth portion and has manage to gnaw off the ends of it. If they are made for chewing, they should be more durable!
