Trouble with slipping down.. Mar 23, 2011
By selainek My son is 7 years old and was chewing his pencils to bits at school (eraser, metal piece, and wood!) I was surprised at how hard they are, they're not at all squishy. I thought that might be a problem but my son LOVES them. My only gripe is that after about a month of daily use they have "loosened" up. At first I could barely cram them on and now they're slipping down the length of the pencil. I wrapped rubber bands around the pencil below the Chew Stixx topper to keep it in place. He chews on them fairly hard (daily!) and they're showing no signs of wear or breakage. Being able to chew has really helped my son focus on his worksheets at school. His teacher couldn't believe the difference after only a couple days of using them. He's also chewing on his shirt collar and sleeves less.

Therapeutic not a toy Oct 23, 2011
By Patti Kiel Helps kids who chew pencil erasers and metal on pencils not to hurt their teeth. Nice to have a oral therapy device that is not too obnoxious. Just looks like an eraser topper and the other kids do not have another reason to tease. Low cost.

excellent resource! Mar 14, 2012
By mom of 2 I bought these for my 8 year old who really enjoys chewing. He needs to chew for sensory input and it became a problem for his teachers because he would chew his pencils, clothes, etc. He LOVES the chew sticks and uses them everyday! Great product!!
