3Doubles as a whistle  Nov 04, 2011 By Jenny
This works for my sensory sensitive child, but unfortunately it also can be used to make a whistling sound so it was banned from the classroom. We also bought one that is more solid (the "knobby" one) and that's the one we use.

4Chewy tube  Aug 11, 2011 By Sheila Bliss "Sheila Bliss"
I can't think of a better toy to address my autistic child's need to chew on something. It seems this is the best toy to address this issue. When he's really in the mood, he'll chow down on it for a good hour so so when going on long car trips or really in the mood at home. Other times, he's just not interested in it at all. So I couldn't give it a 5 for fun because sometimes he absolutely doesn't want it.

Because of the sensory issue this toy addresses, his medical OT therapist has commented on how she thinks it's doing a lot to help him sensory integrate. The better he's sensory integrated, the better he can tackle learning things academically. This toy is of high educational value!

I gave this toy a 3 for durability because within less than a month's time, my son has nearly chewed right through a couple of them.

Overall, I rated this toy a 4. I would buy this toy again when the ones we bought are worn out or lost.
