Fairy Godmother Connie Coyote's Game - "I Like Me" We often hear about self esteem and how important it is for ourselves and others. Parents and others, who share concern and commitment for children's well being, seek ways to help them develop building messages. Self Esteem is made up of the positive and negative thoughts and feelings we have about ourselves. This game encourages children to value themselves and others and to think positively about themselves. It helps children learn ways to take care of themselves, accept their many feelings, look at what they like about themselves and their strengths, and learn ways they can help others and see the positive qualities of others. This has been one of my favorite games to play with children and families. It seems that we all we all tend to have a difficult time talking about ourselves in positive ways. This game provides safe ways for players to talk about themselves positively, recognize their positive qualities, share feelings and get feedback from others. Ways to Build Self Esteem ? Give positive messages to children about themselves. ? Give positive messages for doing things well. ? Find positive ways to correct behavior. ? Help children develop competence & resourcefulness. ? Encourage children to think positively about themselves. ? Help them recognize their strengths.
