5ADORABLE and loved by the kids!  Aug 11, 2010
Bug is a-freaking-dorable! I am a therapist and he has helped my little clients talk about their feelings, particularly anxiety. He is well loved by boys as well as girls. I imagine Bug would be equally at home with play therapy or CBT, as well as other modalities, as he can be very useful in facilitating psychoed about feelings, feeling identification, labeling, communication, etc. His story and folding wings make it easy to talk to young kids about how everyone feels nervous and scaredy sometimes, and how that is okay, but there are things we can learn to do when we feel that way, so that even when we are afraid we can "spread our wings and fly"!

In terms of his "personality", his rotating head and story make him the more "cautious one", but you can really customize that to the situation at hand. A well loved buddy, both by the young ones and myself. I also have Cloud, who is also super cute and very versatile. In fact, if you work with kids I would suggest you either start with Cloud or review all the Kimochi stories to see which types of feelings you see most often among your kids, or could use being able to talk about more easily first. I can't wait to get all the other Kimochis and feeling sets! The only catch is one of my clients did write on a custom feeling, but I haven't tried washing it off yet so I don't know how reusable those are. However, the pen did make a mess when it was used.

This toy is truly adorable and I am sure could be used equally well (and be loved just as much) by families wanting to model to their kids how to express, talk about, and soothe feelings in a healthy way.

5Good toy to discuss feelings  Oct 21, 2009 By Dylon's mom
I bought this for my son. He loves that the wings can tuck into the bug and becomes a caterpillar again. It has great use for getting him ready for transitioning to preschool. I also bought the additional feelings and he seems to be able to identify the feelings and the faces on the feelings toys. I bought the octopuss and the cat as well. I work as a therapist and think these toys will also be useful for kids and teens still working on talking about their feelings.

5So great and so loved.  Jan 27, 2010 By Book Scout
I got 3 of these for Christmas gifts for my nieces, 2 adopted and one now living with grandparents. We got the Cloud, the bug and the octopus after reading the story of each they fit the girls perfectly. The kids love them and they are so helpful when talking about feelings and how they work or should.

5Great Learning Toy  Oct 07, 2011 By hollie908
I bought this as a gift for my 4 year old niece who has Apraxia of speech. Since she has a hard time expressing herself with her words she sometimes has a hard time getting her feelings across to the adults in her life. This toy has been a great way for her to talk about her emotions. I was also pleasantly surprised by the size a quality of it. Great product!

4Love the Ladybug!  Feb 21, 2011 By BusyBones
My little girl was only 6 months when I got this toy for her so i think it will be more fun with time. I think the toy is rated for an older child but I just loved it and wanted to go ahead and purchase it for my baby. This toy is very big and well made. I think it's cute and unique.
