A wonderful and much needed product! Sep 29, 2007

I have used these cards as a parent with my son who was diagnosed with PDD and as a Special Educator/ABA Teacher of preschool children with Autism.
Many years ago I attended a training given by Dr. Vincent Carbone on Verbal Behavior which is a form of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA.) I was so inspired by his workshop that I soon attended the next levels. I could not wait to implement the components of Verbal Behavior into my son's sessions, and later into my students' sessions. Unfortunately there were no products on the market which supported this methodology and it was very time consuming to make materials which could be used in sessions. When this series of cards came out they therefore filled a huge need.
Traditionally ABA was used to teach children hundreds of labels. These cards completely support an aspect of the Verbal Behavior approach where children don't only learn to label an object but also learn the features (characteristics), functions (use) and class (category) of an object. The children therefore learn how to talk about things and this is essential to developing conversational skills.
The pictures on these cards are of an excellent quality and are clear without distractions. The cards are also extremely durable. These cards also come with a handout which explains the many ways these cards can be used effectively. I would highly recommend this product to both parents and teachers. Not only is it a great learning tool but the children really enjoy them!
