"The author lures us into her Bipolar world by injecting humor into the serious subject of mental illness. She acts as a tour guide and takes the reader on her manic journey and then steers us straight into the abyss of her depression." --Diane Urban, PhD, NYS Licensed Psychologist, Adjunct Professor at Manhattan College and Westchester Community College, SUNY

"MY KIND OF CRAZY is an important contribution which sheds light on the often hidden world of mental illness. The line between reality and psychosis is impossible to comprehend unless one has seen the world from both perspectives. The author unlocks the door to a locked psychiatric facility and allows the reader cross the threshold. The story is further enhanced by glimpses of her experience through the eyes of her husband and son." --William M. Dince, Phd, NYS Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Neuropsychologist

5My kind of Crazy  Mar 24, 2009 By Hanne in Tennessee
I found this book very informative and moving. I have a daughter living and suffering with a bipolar disorder and see a lot of similarities. She also is writing a book about her life and struggle with this desease. And her experiences are not pretty at times. Hopefully she will have the courage to have it published for other people to see how important it is to get out into the open the stigma associated with mental illness.

5Everyone's Kind of Crazy  Jul 19, 2009 By Laurie A. Fessler
Janine Crowley Haynes has written a book that I wish I had 30 years ago when a family member was diagnosed as bi-polar (then called manic-depressive.) It's an informative and interesting book but also told with a sense of humor and a light touch. We're all a little crazy in our own way and Janine lets us know it's ok. Not only does she accept who she is but she honors it and I honor her too. It's a quick and amazing read, I read the whole book in one night and spent the next night reading it again. Congratulations to the author, a person I admire and adore without hesitation.

5My kind of crazy  Nov 01, 2009 By Susan F. Kelly "Sue Kelly"
A friend gave me a copy of this exceptional book. I took my unfinished copy to a doctor's appointment. After a discussion with the nurse about her family, I realized that I had to give her my book. Janine writes a captivating/compelling account of her bipolar world so that it's easier for others to understand. It's witty and a very easy read. I have ordered another copy for myself, and a few extras just so I can share again.

5Moving journey inspires Hope  May 22, 2009 By Linsu C. Zimmer
A roller-coaster ride of emotion, only in this way can one truly feel the sensation of being "crazy". This tale of living through and evolving via bipolar disorder brings the reader full circle. Like it or not, we are all emotionally and mentally challenged, perhaps this how the human experience plays out. I was inspired by her courage to boldly go where she had not gone before, ECT. Understanding on a deep level, we all hit the bottom and only then are willing to try something that is outside our typical level of bravery. Humans we all are, unique and genius in our own way. From this story I was infused with the power of love, humor and the spirit's unwavering desire to continue on. Bravo and much gratitude for sharing your story and remaining here to tell it!!!!

5L.Gustafson  May 26, 2009 By Leslie E. Gustafson
BRAVO to the Author for her courage in letting us inside of her most intimate thoughts and details of her life and illness. Her endearing sense of humor allows the reader to navigate through the "tremendous highs and excrutiating lows" of living with Bipolar Disorder. It captivated me and I highly recommend it. A very worthwhile read!!!
