5Teaches Shapes  Jul 28, 2005 By M. Mospan "mother of 2"
This is a great puzzle! The voice speaking the names of each shape is very clear, and my 2 year old is learning his shapes using it! The puzzle says the shape name, and then he repeats it. Teaches beyond the circle, square, triangle! Very good learning tool! Seems durable, and batteries are lasting quite a while.

2Goog Idea but bad design  Jan 14, 2008 By Johneric C. Emehel
Numbers / Letters / Shapes by Melissa and David

These products are designed with a small light sensitive button under the number, letter or shape. Note that while I am only referring to the number game below that the same analysis applies to the letter (ABCs) and shape games. When you place the number in its appropriate slot (Example the # 2 in the number 2 slot) the game will say "two". The problem with the design is that it will also say two if your hand passes over the 2 slot while you are on your way to placing a 3 in the 3 slot. It will also say 2 if you cover the sensitivity button in the 2 slot with a 5, 6, 7, etc. I returned the numbers and letters game because the design problem of having the game calling out other numbers and calling out numbers other then the number my daughter has in her hand since that would tend to confuse her. I kept the shapes game even though it has the same design problem because since it is only 9 shapes (slots) vs. 20+ numbers or letters (slots) the problem is not as prevalent.

4Overall a really good puzzle  Jan 01, 2010 By E. W. McCall "Lil' E's Mama"
I would like this puzzle better if it didn't say the shape name until the correct shape was in its place. No matter which puzzle piece you hold over a cutout, it says the name of that cutout, even if it doesn't fit in that particular cutout. Perhaps there is a reason for this that I'm missing? Other than that, I really do like this puzzle (as does my 2-year-old). I love the objects in the cutouts that represent that particular shape. I think they really help to make the connections in the little ones' minds.

5Taught my daughter her shapes in a day  Dec 10, 2008 By Emily "Musical Mom"
My daughter recieved this puzzle when she was about a year and a half old. We love it! She can hear the shape sounds as she places the pieces into the puzzle. I would hear "Ock-a-don" coming out of her mouth (octagon) on a daily basis.

The only downside to the puzzle is that every once in awhile the sensors stop working and the pieces don't make sound. OR the pieces will randomly go off while they are being stored. I have heard from many other friends who have this puzzle that even when the pieces aren't even near the puzzle, it will talk. The biggest trigger is turning the light on in a room where the puzzle has been sitting. Suddenly late at night you hear, "Square!" Nothing like freaking you out when no one else is around. ;)
