Packaging is deceptive Dec 27, 2007
By SAHM 2 1 "Santa" got this for our two year old but past years have taught me to try electronic toys out early. We demo'd this car on 12/23 and were quite sad that it made loud noises but failed to respond to the remote at all. Attempting to trouble shoot it ourselves before braving the Christmas Eve lines for an exchange we discovered that the toy also requires a 9 volt battery (for the remote) which is not included. The box makes no mention of this but does state that it requires 4 AA's (included). ** You'll want to have that extra battery on hand to make the toy functional.** Our little guy loves this toy despite the noise factor and it's much easier for him to use than his "big boy" R/C toys that were so frustrating to him. It took him less than an hour to figure out how to turn it off and on by himself. His little sister has dropped it, stepped on it, chewed on it and otherwise abused this car and it's still working just fine. It really is made well for the harsh play of a toddler.

Not supported anymore Jan 11, 2007
By TomO My 11m old son received this as a christmas present. It worked great for a few days. Then it went down 1 stairstep (sunken living room) and the motor stopped working. Lights and sound, but no movement. Inside, a resistor had sheered off that was connected to the motor. The car is made by Battat for Parents Magazine. I called Battat and left messages yesterday and last week. As of today, the phone numbers for Battat all give me a message of "this number is not in service". When it works, it works great - but beware that if it breaks you're probably out of luck unless you're handy with a soldering gun.

20 month old loves it Oct 25, 2006

"Diana"
Pros:
- 20 month old LOVES it
- He follows it closely and giggles when it spins around
- He loves the lights and the spinning gears inside
- Works beautifully on wood/non-carpeted floors
Cons:
- Is rather loud
- Range is only about 15 feet so it means you can't be lazy and sit down while playing with it but since my little one follows it around it's not a big deal.

Not worth it Oct 05, 2006

We received this as a gift and didn't like it at all. My two year old used it for about a day. But it doesn't go very far with the remote (you can't just have it move across the floor) and it's VERY noisy! If it is walked away from you can hear it in the other room still making an annoying noise. I'd go with something else if you're looking for a first remote control car

Worst Toy Ever! Jan 01, 2007

I purchased this car for my 2 year old son for Christmas. Shame on me for not taking it out of the box and testing it out prior to Christmas morning. The car lights up and makes sounds (very annoying) but didn't move an inch. I replaced all batteries - still no movement. The manufacturer was of no help. Thank god someone else also got him the Chicco remote control car - because it works!
Steer clear of this stinker.
