Pre-Referral Intervention Manual Aug 05, 2009
I was able to refer to the manual in order to described strategies for behaviors that I would not have thought of. Being a student, as well as a teacher the book is very helpful and I look forward to its continued use.
A Big Tool Box May 22, 2009 As a mental health professional who works with children within the schools, classrooms and in the homes, this book provides immediate, easy-access to symptoms and entire pages of interventions for classroom teachers, instructors, coaches, parents, guardians, and anyone else who has ever or will ever be in the presence of a child. It identifies problems without using bloated terminology and gives real-world options that can often become day to day habits that require little more from the teacher than simple raised awareness and the ability to know when to ignore a behavior and when not to. How to handle tattle-telling, sleeping in class, not staying on task, putting oneself down all the time, bad handwriting, thinking others are talking about you and bossing others around are all topics that are included in page by page list form.
Excellent accessory to parent/teacher conferences, special-ed conferences, for foster parent training, and for parents who want to have a bigger tool box to work with their children in helping them become better adapted to the world around them.
PRIM-Student Intervention Manual Feb 04, 2009 This manual is for teachers to use as a reference for choosing an appropriate student modification. You look up the modifications based on the problems a student is having and the recommended modifications are listed. It also is helpful for filling out referral documents.
A Huge Menu of Interventions for the Classroom Dec 10, 2006 As a special education teacher, I have found this manual to be an invaluable tool for both classroom use, and at IEP meetings.
The goals are measurable and observable, covering every possible contingent a teacher, or counselor would face when dealing with a student in or out of the classroom environment. This work can be used as a "cook-
book" type of resource; you will not need another book besides this one.

A Blessing for substitute teachers Aug 11, 2002 I have found it very helpful as a substitute teacher. It has a common sense approach to dealing with behavior idiosynchrosies common in children from varied backgrounds, and has enough suggestions to fit several cultures and teacher confort levels. As a substitute I find a different bunch daily. This is the perfect reference to eliminate almost every situation I've seen. I've even used it at home to help my son to better control his temper. I've shared it with several teachers so they are able to help my son at school and church as well. The principal at his school has a copy now as a reference for the teachers. He feels it will drastically cut the number of special ed referals next school year. I feel this is useful for anyone who works with children. It is worth so much more than the [$$'s]. My master's advisor was correct in stating that this is the equivalent to the Bible's prophets for a good teacher.
