A Must for Educators, Book Lovers, and "The Wounded Reader" May 18, 2007
By Jeanne Pallos From the first page to the last, "Read for Your Life" draws the reader into the captivating world of books. Those who have been turned off to reading, by being forced to read boring text books and books that hold no interest, will find new incentive to visit their local bookstore or library and begin turning the pages of books they WANT to read. Lack a good education? No problem, say the authors. Read five books on any given topic, and you'll become an expert. Through reading, you can find a much needed mentor or travel to places you've always wanted to visit. Congratulations, Pat Williams and Peggy Matthews Rose. You've written a convincing and motivating book, filled with helpful tips on the importance of reading. And you leave the reader wanting to read more!

Read all about your life's most critical skill Aug 04, 2007
By David Bradford As an English and reading teacher, I think I have read every motivational book available, but Pat William's book is absolutely amazing and 100 percent better than anything I have recently read. One cannot read this book with highlighting and writing margin notes throughout. Every page contains something inspirational, or an idea that makes a reader say, "I do this every day." I was so impressed with this book that I acquired two more and sent them to Tallahassee to be presented to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House. I want every middle and high school English and reading teacher to be presented with this book so they can start the education revolution in our State. The information society is here...no one doubts that, but as Pat has stated, without the ability to read and critically understand the "words on the screen" one will be lost. Readers will be impressed with how clearly the 11 step process is presented and how that process is an outstanding way to get everyone motivated into becoming better readers (and thereby becoming leaders) in our society.

This one deserves six stars! May 14, 2007
By Kathi Macias At last, the "I don't have time to read" myth has been debunked--and with class and finesse! Authors Pat Williams and Peggy Matthews Rose have penned a masterpiece on this much-needed topic, and anyone with even a hint of the importance of instilling a love for words in the younger generations needs to buy this book and read it, cover to cover. Then buy more copies and pass them out to everyone you know because everyone knows someone who needs to read more--and enjoy it more. Congratulations, Pat! You've restored my confidence in the NBA as a role-model entity, simply because you are a part of it. I'm taking on the marketing of this book as a personal endeavor!
