The torpedo is a hard plastic, minimally flexible toy. I expected it to be softer and feel better on the hands.

5Great for Helping my Kindergartener concentrate during class  May 18, 2012 By J. Matteson "New Mom of 2"
My son has several of his primiive reflexes intact and has difficulty keeping his mouth off of things- like desks, countertops, display cases, etc. I bought this to help his teacher help him to stay focused during class and it has been great. She has seen a significant difference in him and I am about to buy a second one for home. It is great for what it is intended.

I was surprised at how large this was. I ordered it for my son to chew on as he was grabbing a similar looking toy of our dogs and chewing. The size prevents him from really getting it in his mouth. If it were just for tactile play I think it would be fine.
