An absolute essential for home and center based programs, this set was created by a parent and a therapist both personally experienced in the program needs of Applied Behavioral Analysis. This set of 350 vivid, beautifully photographed noun cards is an invaluable tool for teaching key language concepts to children with autism or other speech and language delays. The set includes images in nine basic categories: Animals, Foods, Vehicles, Furniture, Clothing, Toys, Everyday Objects, Shapes and Colors. Stage One is comprised of 105 cards that present two identical images on non-distracting white backgrounds. These basic cards foster matching, labeling and categorization skills. The remaining cards round out Stage Two, which presents the images in their natural settings, enabling children to conceptualize and generalize. In addition to fostering receptive and expressive language, these cards are also ideal for higher learning, including functions, story telling and more. On the back of each card is an easy to use system for tracking your child?s progress, including a list of possible program uses, with the date that each is introduced and mastered. Each set includes 57 foods, 39 animals, 27 vehicles, 31 clothing items, 24 furniture items, 39 familiar toys, 15 basic stages sets, 13 colors with duplicates, 12 shapes with duplicates and 83 additional objects familiar to your child. Each card is 3 1/2" by 5".

4Wonderful tool for autistic children  Jan 21, 2007 By Kat Skan
My son has a mild form of autism which contributed to his speech delays. This product aided him visually in identifying items in different categories at a rapid rate, as well as encouraged his memorization skills. Soon enough, he was able to verbally ID every item shown to him. The one thing I didn't agree with was the price. Because my son was able to master item identification, we only used this picture set for a short period of time. I suppose one can say the price was worth it.

5Great for building vocabulary  Apr 11, 2007 By B. Hanson
This set is expensive but worth the value for children with Autism or delayed speakers. It includes several categories for learning. The first is the object with a white background and then it builds to objects in a natural setting and then similar objects so your child can learn variety. There is also a section for shapes and color as well as matching items. My autistic son is 2 and is just learning to speak and these have been a wonderful tool to motivate his speech. This product is crucial to implementing Applied Behavior Anyalysis.

5Great purchase  Sep 02, 2007 By Consumer
This product has been great to use for purposes of generalization. My son has an ASD, and I highly recommend these card for therapists/parents with children that have an ASD. They have worked great for us. A few of the pictures are a little dated, but overall we've been happy with the purchase.

5A "must have"  Jan 30, 2011 By Joanna Sullivan "JS"
I love these picture cards! I have used these in all the ABA based language programs I've worked. Now I'm practicing independently, and I wish they were not so expensive, because they make running a program so much easier. I love how there is a set with a white background so that children aren't identifying an extraneous stimulus rather than the target stimulus. If you are only using them with one child, they have a useful list on the back side to record mastery dates for the different verbal operants. There are plenty of cards here to complete an ABLLS-R or VB-MAPP. They are made of sturdy card stock, and I've never seen one get bent or ripped. The box is also sturdy and contains index dividers with pretyped labels and blank labels, so you can organize them, and grab them quickly.

4An autism must...  Jun 12, 2010 By Mom2Three
I have two children with autism and this card set has been the most used item in years of ABA therapy. Not only is it used for all different activities, but my kids (typical and with autism) love to just look through them! Some of the pictures are very dated...I don't know if this set is still the same or has been updated (pictures of old rotary phones, tape decks, etc!). They are expensive...I still don't understand why they cost so much...but they do last forever and will definitely get used. My daughter just started a new program and it was the first thing they requested we get for her.
