4Sensory Input Toy  Jun 10, 2009 By J. Baer "Ella's Mom"
My daughter has sensory issues and we bought this snake because it is similar to what they use with her in her occupational therapy sessions. She loves it! We wrap it around her so the vibrations are around her shoulders and back. I would recommend it to anyone who has a child with sensory input needs.

1difficult to turn on/off, and can be dangerous - not for young kids  Mar 08, 2011 By MonkeyDog
I bought this for my 6-year old disabled, blind daughter. She had an older version of this toy and it was her favorite toy. She could turn it on and off which made her feel independent and it was easy for her manipulate.
This new design has been nothing but frustration! I can't believe that they think this is a safe item for folks who may have physical limitations.

- it it difficult for me to turn on/off, and impossible for my daughter. It twists on and off, but is very tight and there is not way to tell when you've twisted it to the right place if you're blind.

- the ends are much heavier and made of very heavy plastic, my daughter gave herself a fatlip with it. Then trying not to hit herself, has given others bumps and black and blue marks.

- The hooks at the ends... they only make it more dangerous when you get hit with it.

- Because you can't tell when it's totally off, it runs out of batteries much more quickly.

I don't know who thought his was a better product. I've tried on various sites to get the old version - but can't seem to get it anywhere. BTW, in the past year I went through 2 of the old version. In just a couple of months, I've thrown out 2 of this version. If the makers of this read this review -- do you have any of the old model left? Have you even considered the actual needs of real, live disabled people??

3Slowly introduce this Toy to small Autistic children.  Oct 15, 2011 By Crispy Critter
This was one of the Autistic toys I have been introducing to my 4 y/o Autistic son. The toy itself has a very good product that I am sure works well for Sensory Disorders. The down sides of this toy I would say is its alien nature to an Autistic Childs understanding. My son was afraid of it at first but then he accepted it and enjoyed the vibration for small periods of time. It has been hot and cold when it comes to this snake like toy for him. In the morning he does not want to see it but then the closer he gets to nap time the more accepting he is of it. He will sleep with the vibrations but does not want to see it when he wakes up. I think it may be the Orange/ Yellow color combination that may be causing his arrest to completely accept it. I can only recommend that these toys be made with less lively colors as to make it easier to introduce to children.

3vibrating snake  Sep 14, 2011 By Christina
Great while it lasts. Worth it but fell apart from bending and biting it. That's what a child with Autism will do so needs to be made more durable.

4My son loves it!  Jan 04, 2012 By Ginger Dodge
The shipping was quick and the vibrating snake was packaged well. There were a few marks on the snake, like it had been set down and weighted on something sharp. These marks are cosmetic only. Otherwise, it arrived in good shape. My son loves vibrating toys that provide stimulus. This toy is something that he loves very much.
